Standard Grades and other Shizzle

My life has not been filled with much recently, hence the not very common posts as I've not had much to talk about! Standard grades (Scottish version of GCSEs) have been going on, and I'm just back from my fifth of eight exams, which was physics *shudder*, not really all that joyous.
Cannot wait til they are over and I can spend time with all my friends, which I really miss!

On that note, I'd like to say a wee note about my friends, as they are really important to me. They know who they are, and I really do love you all, I appreciate it :)

Will be a much longer post next time, I promise. Just wait til exams are over!

Boredom

I am now on study leave for my standard grades. When I first thought of study leave, I thought it was going to be brilliant - seeing friends, lying out in the sun, shopping, and with only the bare necessities of revision.

This is not the case.

Revision is constant, yet, still not much seems to go in. Everyone is really stressed so no-one is in a good mood, and some of my friends are locked in, made to do revision. I'm not locked in, but I feel guilty for going out or going on facebook. I'm such a downer right now!

So what I need is some cheering up, and this is where you come in. If you're reading this from my facebook page, and you know me, send me a cheerful and upbeat pm, which will put me in a better mood. If you are a stranger to me (though I still love you for reading this!) then just comment below.

Thank you, depressing rant over.

Malawi and Music

A strange mix... I know, but these two things are what mean a lot to me at this moment in time!

I'd like to tell you about my other blog that I set up the other day, as I'm going on a trip to Malawi. Please check it out!

Another very important part in my life is music. I dance lots, and I am seldom without my ipod or radio on in my room. I've found some songs that I'd love to share with you guys, and find out what you think of them!

First of all is a beautiful cover of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" by Daughter. This was recorded at Radio 1's live lounge, and gave me goosebumps. Haven't been able to stop listening to it since.

Secondly, my friend played this song a couple of days ago, and it brought a lot of memories flooding back. So sad, but still hopeful. And I'm sure most of you will not of heard it in a while, but thought you would appreciate it now. (Thanks Niamh)

But on a lighter note, my final song choice to share with you is "Attracting Flies" by Alunageorge. It's fun, quirky and feisty! Give it a go, something a bit different.

Hope you've enjoyed my random little selection of music!

Busy, busy, busy

Why is life so hectic sometimes? Phew, I feel like I've been rushed off my feet in a storm of homework, revision and social life. And of course, the latter is the most important! Done many things since I last posted; which yes, i know, was AGES ago. I went to my school's Valentine's dance, which was so much fun. My friends and I went as the characters from Alice in Wonderland, with another two of my friends who went it leopard cat suits! I was the red queen of hearts.

I have also baked, LOTS. These are my two favourite creations- custard creams and berry cupcakes. Thanks to the 'a spoonful of sugar' blog, I made these delicious biscuits. And in case you're wondering, I made the pink icing roses by hand!

I saw Emeli Sandé at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh recently with a friend, Iona (far left on Alice in Wonderland pic). She was absolutely phenomenal, such a brilliant show. I was sitting quite far back, so the pictures aren't great, but the music certainly was.

Now, I really must get back to revision, I was just having a break. But I promise to blog soon!

Film Night

Had a fabulous time the other night at my friend's house. We watched Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and played Frustration. What a way to spend a Friday night!

We also did light painting, which was great fun, and with amazing outcomes. Here's a few examples:

Pretty cool, eh?!

Seeing Boise (check out her blog!) today. Should be good fun, we're making dinner and cards. Such fun!

Long time, No see

First of all, I apologise profoundly for not posting in AGES! *slaps back of own hand repeatedly*. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday season if you do not celebrate Christmas) and I wish you a very happy New Year. I hope 2013 is filled with new opportunities, laughter and a little love mixed in.

Now the soppy bit's over, I can tell you what's been going on with me over the festive period. I've spent A LOT of it bored, but when I've not been watching Christmas specials of Downton Abbey and Call the midwife (Which is starting up on Sunday again!) and generally acting like an old women, I've been out having fun with family and friends. I've been ice skating...
I've done the usual putting-up-the-Christmas-tree ritual...
And lots of other festive things!

Hahaha!

I promise to post again soon!

Dashing through the NO

I'm sure many of you have seen this picture, but I thought I would share it with the world as it makes me laugh every time I see it:
Bah Humbug!
I'm not much of a cat person, but a family member in the mighty USA is and posted this on her facebook, and i loved it. I don't believe in getting way to excited for Christmas, until half-way through December. Again, bah humbug.

We had snow recently but it's has all gone now, which I'm glad about as it just causes so many disruptions and it became really icy (sound like a middle-aged woman). Though I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, and i hope you get whatever you wish for this Christmas.

Love you lots like jellytots,
